CISA Turrialba

CISA Turrialba

CISA Turrialba offers an authentic Spanish immersion experience in a safe and rural town.

Surrounded by mountains, tropical landscape, and perched on a hill, the school’s peaceful learning environment is attractive to college students & graduates, teens, families and children.

The warmth of the people in the community makes all students feel welcome and uninhibited in practicing speaking Spanish.

Tuis and Turrialba are both safe towns, and are famous for their friendly and warm people. The locals do not speak English, therefore students jump right into a new culture and language the day they arrive to Costa Rica!

The CISA Turrialba campus is specifically located in a town called ‘Tuis’. It is approximately 20 minutes from the larger city, Turrialba. The town of Tuis has a population of around 3,000 people. The campus is situated on a large property, up on a hill, which has views of the Turrialba Volcano.

The campus is a 2 hour drive from San Jose. After leaving San Jose’s busy streets, you drive through Cartago and then drive through mountainous roads to Turrialba. The views are breathtaking!

The feature most enjoyed by the CISA Turrialba students is the interaction with the Voz Que Clama Mission, which is a Mission to help the community, as well as a church that meets on Sunday’s. Students are captivated by the openness and sincerity of the families that attend the church. The VQC Mission uses the CISA building for its meetings and activities. The interactions with the Voz Que Clama Mission church congregation is a great highlight for students and allows for meeting new people and building lasting friendships.
